Drowning of the Marzanna

OK this is tooo funny I really have to share it. Basically I didn't do this but it's just TOOOO funny. In the picture you see my roommate with the Marzanna. Apparently it's a Polish tradition to drown a Marzanna (for whatever reason). And my roommate's boyfriend is Polish. And he and a group of other Polish people decided that they should drown the Marzanna. And they made the Marzanna. MUahahahaha this is too funny. And the group of them paraded in the streets with the poor Marzanna (it's a she and it's topless, the poor thing) and went to some river and drowned the poor thing.
Can you imagine a group of people walking around in the streets with that stupid thing in the middle of the night and then dump it into the river? i can't stop laughing... And generally according to the Polish guys who grew up in Poland, they just throw it into the river. But one guy insisted that in some other place they actually have to burn the Marzanna. So they decided to be multicultural and do both. I can't believe these people!! muahahaha it's a good thing they didn't get caught for littering or something.
